Spring 2019

The spring semester is the second half of my stay in Guangzhou, China, where my wife Heidi is doing research. I will work primarily on MIGNEX, a large European project migration and development that I lead. The project manager Anne Duquenne and I work closely with colleagues at ODI and the communications agency Soapbox to set up the project website and prepare for more than 80 publications over the coming five years. Alongside MIGNEX, I will work finalizing our project Transnational Lives in the Welfare State (TRANSWEL).  Throughout the spring I will also be working with Erlend Paasche on analyses of how migration and return are represented in Nigerian cultural production. I am also completing work on several other projects before starting work on my ERC Consolidator project Future Migration as Present Fact (FUMI) in July.
