Conveying capacity, creativity and commitment in an ERC proposal

How can four pages be used to show that you have ‘the intellectual capacity, creativity and commitment’ to deserve a generous research grant? This is the role of the ‘CV and track record’ in proposals to the European Research Council (ERC).
